Bridgewater

Bridgewater is a growing town of 27,263 people on the South Coast in Plymouth County. Though small compared to many of its neighbors, Bridgewater is the home of two large institutions: Bridgewater State College, a public four-year liberal arts college; and the Bridgewater Correctional Complex, a major part of the Massachusetts penal system. The complex houses the Bridgewater State Hospital, a mental hospital for prisoners; a substance abuse treatment center; and the Old Colony Correctional Center, a medium-security prison. Also of note in Bridgewater is the Bridgewater Triangle, an area of several towns and nearby wild land where some claim to have seen supernatural phenomena. Bridgewater residents and many of their neighbors use the Brockton District Court, about seven miles to the north.

The Law Office of Stephen Neyman has defended clients from Bridgewater and all over Plymouth County in criminal proceedings at the district and superior court levels. We have handled defense of crimes including marijuana possession, possession of drugs like Valium or Oxycontin without a valid prescription, narcotics distribution or possession with intent to sell, drunk driving/OUI, assault and battery, theft and shoplifting, sexual assault and more. Criminal defendants in this court from more urban or working-class cities may face special challenges because many jurors in Plymouth County come from suburban cities with money. Nonetheless, every Massachusetts juror swears an oath to uphold the law, and we help them see that this duty includes a duty to give each defendant and case a fair hearing.

Being accused of a crime is not fun. Criminal convictions can have serious consequences, for the loved ones of the accused as well as the accused themselves. Right away, time in police custody can disrupt your job, and even an accusation can lead directly to a dismissal in some workplaces. If you are convicted, you may face revocation of a professional license and an entire lost career, and a felony conviction can also lead to trouble finding any job in the future. Of course, you also face time in jail or prison, and restrictions on your freedom if released. With so much to lose, you should call criminal defense lawyer Stephen Neyman for help as soon as you know you’re being charged. With more than 20 years of experience, Stephen Neyman understands how to counter prosecutors’ arguments and get the best possible outcome for his clients, no matter what that means for each individual case.

The Law Office of Stephen Neyman offers free, confidential case evaluations, so you risk nothing by speaking to us about your case. You can request one by calling 617-263-6800 or sending us a message through the Internet. Bridgewater residents and people from all over eastern Massachusetts are also invited to visit our downtown Boston law office in person. When you reach downtown, take exit 20 for South Station and go straight to stay on Lincoln Street. Turn right at Kneeland Street, follow it until it becomes Atlantic Avenue, turn left at Pearl Street and go straight to pass through Post Office Square. From there, it’s a right turn onto Congress Street. To take a train, you can use the Kingston/Plymouth and Middleborough/Lakeview Line, which takes you directly to South Station, just a short walk from the office.
