Personal Recognizance for Man Charged With Armed Home Invasion and Assault and Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon Causing Serious Bodily Injury
The government alleges that nearly two years ago our client, along with four other people broke into a home, pistol whipped to residents causing one of them hospitalization and a significant injury. The investigation resulted in our client being charged with masked armed home invasion and assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury. These are crimes in Massachusetts pursuant to G.L. c. 266 Section 14 and G.L. c. 265 Section 15A respectively. The indictment was issued in December of 2025. As a result the prosecution issued a warrant. Our client was arrested in Florida where he had been living. He was transported to Massachusetts where the District Attorney’s office moved for detention under the dangerousness statute, G.L. c. 276 section 58A. After a hearing, the judge agreed with our position and ordered the release of our client. There are no restrictions on him other than to stay away from the named victims and witnesses in this case.
