Multiple Gun Charges Against Social Worker to be Dismissed
Our client is a social worker with a bachelors from a top university. He has two masters degrees as well. He is a committed social worker with several decades of service. In October of last year he was going through a contentious divorce with his wife. The two were separated and our client was awarded custody of the couple’s children. The wife came to his house and became violent. He subsequently successfully applied for a restraining order. The police went to serve the wife. When they did she alerted them to several firearms in her home. Although our client had a license to carry LTC it had expired. The officers located the firearms, some ammunition and observed the guns to be stored improperly. Our client was charged with 11 counts including unlawful possession of a firearm in violation of G.L. c. 269 section 10(h), unlawful possession of ammunition in violation of the same statute and improper storage of a firearm in violation of G.L. c. 140 section 131L. Today, all charges were continued without a finding. After a short probationary period all charges will be dismissed.
