Charges of Open and Gross Lewdness Against College Professor to be Dismissed
Our client is a professor at a well-known University. He has recently been suffering from mental health issues involving depression. He has been prescribed various medications to address his illness. At the time of this alleged incident none of the medications appear to be working. In February of this year the prosecution alleged that our client was driving naked through a wealthy Boston suburb. A young woman observed him masturbating while he was driving. She memorized his license plate and contacted the police. The police were able to obtain registry of motor vehicle information including a driver’s license photo and ask the woman to participate in a photographic array. She did. She identified our client as the perpetrator. He was ultimately arrested and charged with open and gross lewdness and violation of G.L. c. 272 section 16. This is a felony in Massachusetts. Attorney Neyman was hired. Today, we were able to convince a judge to continue the case without a finding (CWOF) for a short period of time. We did so by engaging a forensic psychologist who was able to identify the trigger for our clients issues. She referred him to a psychiatrist who prescribed appropriate medications and his urges and behavior have been appropriately modified.
