Charges of Assault by Means of a Dangerous Weapon Against Fiber Optics CEO to be Dismissed
Our client is the owner and CEO of a multinational fiber optics Corporation. Last winter he was having a major remodeling construction job at his suburban Boston home. The general contractor was an extremely unsavory businessman who attempted to cheat our client out of several hundred thousand dollars. When our client recognized what was going on he terminated the contract with the man. The general contractor returned to the property several days later with several men. All of them threatened my client and tried to extort more money from him. When our client refused to accede to their demands the men threatened our client with bodily harm. To diffuse the situation the client took out a licensed firearm, pointed it towards the men and threatened to kill them. He was ultimately arrested and charged with several counts of assault by means of a dangerous weapon in violation of G.L. c. 265 section 15B. Attorney Neyman was hired. Today, we were able to get our client a continuance without a finding. All charges will be dismissed in a few months.
