Reading

Reading is a middle-class town in greater Boston with a population estimated at 23,512 in 2009. It was named in the 1600s for the city of the same name in England. Like many cities in Massachusetts, Reading was primarily a farming community until industrialization in the nineteenth century, when it became a center for the manufacture of several items, especially caskets. Rail lines laid in the twentieth century helped Reading become a primarily residential city with convenient commuter access to Boston. However, it had several large employers in the latter half of that century, including Addison-Wesley Publishing. Reading and many of its neighbors use the Woburn District Court when they have legal business with the state, at 30 Pleasant Street in Woburn.

The Law Offices of Stephen Neyman visit that court on a regular basis, on behalf of residents of Reading and nearby cities. Cases heard in this court include misdemeanor trials, restraining orders and non-evidentiary motions, many of which pertain to cases that will be heard in the nearby Middlesex County Superior Court. Attorney Stephen Neyman represents people accused of all types of crimes in these courts, including domestic violence, OUI, robbery, battery, sex crimes and probation violations. But in this area, we most frequently defend people accused of drunk driving and drug crimes. We represent people accused of all types of drug crimes, from simple possession to large scale manufacture, cultivation or trafficking. This includes all types of drugs, including marijuana, prescription drugs like Vicodin or Oxycontin, and harder drugs like heroin, cocaine and methamphetamine.

If you’re accused of a crime in Reading or anywhere else in Massachusetts, don’t hesitate before calling the Law Offices of Stephen Neyman. Being accused of a crime can threaten your freedom, your livelihood and your loved ones. It can also be so difficult emotionally that some defendants simply ignore the problem until a lot of time has gone by. This can be a big mistake, because letting time pass means missing legal deadlines as well as opportunities to defend yourself. Even defendants who take quick action can’t always defend themselves adequately, because the legal system is set up in a way that can confuse non-lawyers. Attorney Stephen Neyman has more than 20 years of experience in Massachusetts criminal law and has successfully represented hundreds of people in greater Boston who faced criminal charges. We are proud of the years of results we’ve gotten for our clients.
