Norwood

Located southwest of the city, Norwood is a suburb of 28,459 people and a part of greater Boston. Like many of its neighbors, it was once part of a land grant to the nearby city of Dedham, but split off in the late 1800s to form its own town. One of Norwood’s most unusual features is its town hall, the Norwood Memorial Municipal Building. This building is frequently mistaken for a church because of its neo-gothic architecture, bell tower and stained-glass windows. But in fact, the building was never a church; it was built as a municipal building. The town hall and a stone outside the library both honor local Revolutionary War hero Aaron Guild, who is said to have abandoned his plowing and dashed to Lexington just in time to fire on the British as they retreated. Norwood residents use the Dedham District Court, just to the northeast in Dedham.

Criminal defense lawyer Stephen Neyman represents people charged with any type of crime in Norwood and throughout eastern Massachusetts. In the Dedham court, our office has handled numerous different criminal charges, including charges of assault and battery, sex crimes, theft, burglary, all types of narcotics crimes, motor vehicle charges and more. Many of the more serious crimes heard in this court will ultimately be tried in Norfolk Superior Court, but that doesn’t mean our office can’t help in district court. At the district court level, we can get started right away by making motions and representing you at hearings. In fact, if you have been held in jail pending bail, we can help right away by showing up to a bail hearing and arguing for quick release from jail with reasonable or no bail.

If you’ve been arrested and charged for the first time, you may be upset, confused or anxious about what the future might hold. Most people don’t know what to expect after a first arrest, and law enforcement officers typically do not have much sympathy for offenders, even if they are clearly not career criminals. Criminal charges can start affecting your job and your relationships with others right away, long before a conviction can take place -- and if a conviction does take place, it can have serious consequences for your freedom, your financial security and your loved ones. Not surprisingly, many defendants facing this situation feel upset or stressed. Attorney Stephen Neyman helps alleviate that strain -- and, more importantly, get you the best possible outcome to your case -- by putting experience and professional knowledge on your side.

The downtown Boston Law Office of Stephen Neyman is convenient for Norwood residents who commute into the city and easily reached from Norwood itself. To get there, you can take Interstate 95 north to the Mass Pike east, then follow it all the way into central Boston. Take the left exit for Interstate 93, then immediately get off at the South Station exit, exit 24A. Keep left at the fork to get onto Atlantic Avenue and then turn left onto Pearl Street. Continue onto Post Office Square and turn right onto Congress Street. The office will be to your right. By train, Norwood residents can take the Franklin Line from Norwood Center directly to South Station, from which they can walk to 50 Congress Street.
