Framingham, Massachusetts Drug Trafficking Defense Law Firm

You can go into the Framingham District Court any day and you will see countless people being arraigned on new drug cases. Some are for possession or possession with the intent to distribute. Others are for trafficking. The trafficking cases that originate in the Framingham District Court are usually for arraignment and bail purposes only. The district court does not have final jurisdiction over trafficking cases but sometimes cases initially charged as trafficking are broken down and kept in the district courts.

A recent trafficking case that originated in the Framingham District Court involved a large scale international drug trafficking operation. An individual was being watched for several weeks. His telephones calls were being intercepted by wiretap. Officers learned that the man, along with another man were going to deliver drugs to a buyer. The defendant was followed. The police saw him sell drugs. When they grabbed him, trying to conceal evidence he put several packets of heroin in his mouth and attempted to swallow them. He was arrested. His home was searched and a significant amount of heroin was found. It was enough to charge trafficking heroin.

Just a day later another man who was out on bail for trafficking oxycodone was arrested after the police saw him selling drugs. This time, in additional to oxycodone the man was found in possession of a large quantity of marijuana. The second case caused bail to be revoked in the first case.

Defending Prostitution Cases in Framingham

Prostitution is commonly charged in Framingham. The small hotels along Route 9 have become a destination point for prostitutes soliciting their business through websites such as craigslist or backpage.com. Officers set up sting operations, posing as “Johns” to catch the prostitutes. The police also confront the customers after they leave the hotel and extract information from them relative to the operation. The customer gets summonsed for a clerk’s hearing on a charge of sex for a fee. If properly handled these cases can be dismissed and you can walk out of court without a criminal record.
